David is President of Twickenham Conservative Association. In this role, he chairs the Association’s Annual General Meetings and acts as Returning Officer for officer elections.

David served as a Borough Councillor for twenty-eight years, during which time he held several senior positions on the Council, including Lead Member for Education, Environment and Social Services. He also served as Mayor of Richmond upon Thames in 2010/11.
