We live in a great country, one we believe benefits from Conservative Party leadership. We want to ensure future generations can enjoy the freedoms and privileges that a Conservative government delivers. If you share this vision, you may wish to consider leaving a legacy in your Will to Twickenham Conservatives.
The Conservative Party has always stood for personal liberty, democracy and the rule of law. But while we are very proud of these core values, we must be able to look confidently to the future in the knowledge that our society, our institutions and the things we stand for remain strong and secure.
We believe it is our duty to uphold Conservative values for future generations. With your help, we aim to guarantee that our children, and their children, can live in a Britain where:
- Our individual freedoms are respected and upheld
- Our right to free enterprise and industry is protected and encouraged
- Our dignified institutions and traditions are safeguarded and carefully maintained
A gift in your will is one of the most meaningful ways to support the work of the local Conservatives here in the Twickenham Constituency.
Here's why:
- Lasting impact: your legacy gift helps ensure that we can continue fighting for our community long into the future
- Tax efficient: gifts to registered political parties are exempt from Inheritance Tax, meaning more of your estate goes where you want it
And, unlike the Labour Party, which is funded by the trade unions, local branches of the Conservative Party, such as ours, rely on the goodwill of our supporters - whether that's donations, membership fees or a gift in their will.
LEAVING A LEGACY IS SIMPLE...
There are three ways to help the local Conservatives in your will.
- Residuary bequest - a percentage of your estate after other gifts and expenses.
- Pecuniary bequest - a specific sum of money.
- Specific bequest - a particular item such as shares or property.
We recommend speaking with a solicitor to ensure your will is properly drafted and your wishes are clearly expressed. Please remind them we are an unincorporated Association. When instructing your solicitor, please use the following details:
- Organisation name: Twickenham Conservative Association
Address: 90 York Road, Teddington, Middlesex, TW11 8SN email: [email protected]
And, if you already have a will...
You can add a codicil to your existing will to update your wishes without having to rewrite the entire document.
A codicil is a legal document that amends your existing will. Once completed and signed in the presence of two witnesses, it should be kept with your will. If your solicitor holds your will, provide them with a copy of the codicil for their records.
Keep us informed
Writing or amending a Will is a very private and delicate matter. If you would like to let us know about your intentions to include the Conservative Foundation in your Will, we would be extremely grateful. If you choose to help us in this way, we will ensure your generosity will be put to good use - promoting our Party and our values in the years ahead to ensure the Conservative Party in the Twickenham Constituency remains an active and effective political party.
