Members recently attended the Association’s annual Christmas Curry, with special guest speaker Baroness Lucy Neville-Rolfe, lead frontbench Treasury spokesperson in the House of Lords.
Baroness Neville-Rolfe brought a wealth of experience from both business and government. Before entering the House of Lords, she worked at Tesco for many years and served on the company’s board. She has also held ministerial roles in Conservative governments, including in the Business and Culture departments, as Commercial Secretary to the Treasury, and as Minister of State.
The evening brought members together for good food, good company and a wide-ranging political discussion. Baroness Neville-Rolfe spoke about the national political and economic challenges facing the country, as well as the importance of Conservative values, sound money and responsible government.
Members also had the opportunity to ask a range of questions, leading to a lively and thoughtful discussion on the economy, public finances, business, and the challenges facing the country.
Thank you to Baroness Neville-Rolfe for joining us, and to everyone who attended and helped make the evening such a success.
