Jonathan Hulley, the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Twickenham, has spoken out against night-time flights into Heathrow, warning that they are damaging the quality of life of residents across the constituency.
Jonathan raised the issue in response to a Government consultation on the future of night flights across the South East, including flights into Heathrow.
Jonathan said: “We are all disturbed by the noise from night-time flights from Heathrow Airport.”
He added: “Between 4.30am and 6am every night, we struggle to get a good night’s sleep here in Twickenham constituency.”
Jonathan said residents should not have their sleep repeatedly disrupted by aircraft noise in the early hours of the morning. He believes the impact on families, older residents, shift workers and those already affected by Heathrow noise must be properly taken into account.
Jonathan made his position clear, saying: “I am opposed to night-time flights from Heathrow.”
He is encouraging residents affected by aircraft noise to respond to the Government consultation and to share their views with him directly.
Jonathan said: “Please write to me to express your opposition to night-time flights from Heathrow Airport.”
Jonathan will continue to stand up for residents whose sleep, health and quality of life are affected by early morning flights into Heathrow.
