Local Conservatives were out in Hampton this evening, delivering leaflets and speaking with residents about the issues that matter to them.
There were encouraging responses on the doorstep, with many residents telling us they do not want ULEZ. A particular concern is the lack of proper notice given to outer London residents, along with a scrappage scheme that has not gone far enough to support families, small businesses and people who depend on their vehicles.
Residents are also frustrated by the poor state of local roads and unkempt verges across the area.
A large number of potholes were raised as a major concern. Residents are rightly fed up with dangerous road defects not being fixed properly, even after they have been reported to the Council.
Road safety was another clear issue, with residents saying no to speeding and reckless driving on Hanworth Road.
Local Conservatives will continue listening to residents, reporting problems and campaigning for safer roads, better maintenance and a fairer deal for outer London.
