It is with great sadness that we let you know our friend and colleague Irmeli Selin died this morning after becoming seriously ill earlier this year.
We offer our sincere condolences to Irmeli's family in her native Finland and to her dear friend Elizabeth Foster whom many of us know.
Irmeli was a fabulous Conservative. She took on an enormous amount of work for both us and Brentford and Isleworth. She worked every single ward in Twickenham and was a tremendous support to so many of us with everything she did. Irmeli was totally reliable, loyal and generous in many ways and did it all in her quiet and unassuming manner. Her smile and words of encouragement ensured supporters and helpers alike kept going even in the most difficult circumstances.
We were so pleased to see her at the Sea Scouts in Teddington as a teller in the recent local by-election where as usual she gave her all for the team despite her diagnosis.
She will be hugely missed.
