An apology has been demanded in Parliament from local LibDem MP Munira Wilson after she wrongly claimed a school in Manchester was still waiting to hear from the Government about remediation for RACC concrete issues. During a debate in the House of Commons on September 6th 2023 her poor fact checking led her to claim that a brand new independent school was still waiting to hear back on a timeline for repairs. In fact, the state-of-the-art school had opened at the start of this year. Additionally, the school is not reliant on Government funding as it is non-maintained, The local MP, Mary Robinson was unimpressed and asked that the record be put straight.
As the LibDems education spokesperson, you might have expected Munira Wilson to get the facts right……
